Villa Rise announce UK relocation

In news that will bring great sadness to the Australian hardcore scene, Western Sydney mainstays Villa Rise have announced that they will be relocating to the UK indefinitely shortly after Christmas. The band has said that they will release new material and try to fit in as many shows as possible before their departure, and have recently been announced for Loud Fest: Part Two at The Annandale Hotel in Sydney on December 17.

I think it is probably important to make some sort of “Official” announcement – there has been rumor and innuendo going around for quite some time, along with comments made by band members or the band itself – its pretty much been the worlds worst kept secret.

Villa Rise as a group will be relocating from Sydney Australia to the United Kingdom just after Christmas in 2011. We cannot say how long or how short this relocation will last – in any case Villa Rise will not be present in Australia for quite some time.

We will be playing as many shows as possible in our remaining few months at home so that we can see as many of the faces that have been so kind to us these past years.

We are moving for a few simple reasons – all personal, with very little to do with the actual band. We are fortunate that 5 individuals have come to the same conclusions about their living condition at the same time, and that we are able to continue on as a band. We are extremely excited about this venture and look forward to meeting new people and experiencing new places.

We want to take the time to thank some people who have been really kind to us:

Our Friends & Families, Mitch Noakes, 206, Dave Hammer, Metal Matty, Pledge This, Armada in the Dusk, Travels, Sienna Skies, To Our Forefathers, As Silence Breaks, The Bride, Heroes for Hire, Crywolf, Facehate, Caulfield, Buried in Verona, Harlow, Reality, Sydney Girls Choir, Matt Leost, Daniel Mitzal, Michael Tavendar, Oliver Cation, CB Best, Otis Noble and countless others. Any band we’ve ever played with and anyone we’ve met at a show. Anyone kind enough to book us or let us crash. It has meant the world!

Australia is bursting with talented musicians and hard working bands – its awesome to see. We feel blessed to have been able to be a small part of it and wish everyone the best.

We will have a few tracks available soon as a parting gift – we aren’t sure how they will be released yet – stay tuned for the next few weeks. We look forward to seeing you at a show!

Love!

Jarrod, Ben, Brendon, Kyle & Alex.
