"Its classic, classy black and white style perfectly complements the performance of the song."
The highly anticipated new album from father and daughter duo Rob Hirst & Jay O’Shea, The Lost And The Found, arrives later this month, and today we have the pleasure of premiering its lead single.
Set to drop on February 28, the new LP marks the duo’s first-ever album together and new single Pearl Shell Buttons promises big things to come.
The single’s accompanying music video was made by Australian filmmaker Robert Hambling, who has previously worked with Hirst on Midnight Oil projects, as well as with Cold Chisel, Silverchair and more.
“The clip was shot in a two-hour evening session at Robert’s studio in Brookvale, Sydney,” Hirst told The Music.
“Its classic, classy black and white style perfectly complements the performance of the song, the drama of the story, and the building tension of swirling, soaring strings.”
On the album, O’Shea has previously noted: “I loved that we got to work on a project without any kind of pressure or parameters of what a father and daughter should sound like together.

“We just got to make some music. I’m not even sure it has a genre, but I guess that’s just fine. To get to know my birth father more through this collaboration has been the most beautiful, epic adventure.”
The new album is Hirst and O’Shea’s first collaboration since their 2016 Golden Guitar-winning song The Truth Walks Slowly.
