Trippy stuff

Perth post rock/experimental/electronic outfit Usurper Of Modern Medicine continue to explore new territory with their latest album, both sonically and technologically.

The WA trio released their highly anticipated new album Everything Is Nothing last Friday, and unveiled details surrounding an augmented reality app that accompanies it.

The app was designed by frontman Steve Aaron alongside coder Steve Berrick and turns the artwork of local surrealist painter Liam Dee into an interactive, 3D experience. The app is available on iOS and Android and allows listeners to play a rhythmic touch and sensor-based game while their device’s camera is pointed at the LP playing on a turntable.

Everything Is Nothing will be launched at The Bird this Friday, July 14. Check out theGuide for all the details, and the app trailer below.
