Florida police have confirmed the death of US rapper XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy) following a shooting today.
As TMZ reports, the 20-year-old was leaving a motorcycle dealer in South Florida when a gunman approached his vehicle and shot him.
The Plantation-born artist was rushed to a hospital and later pronounced dead by the Broward County Sheriff's Department.
TMZ have reported that dispatch audio from the scene suggests that the incident was a possible drive-by and suspects have been described as two males in hoodies, while the shooter was allegedly wearing a red mask. .
Onfroy most recently released his second studio album, ?, in March which peaked at #3 in Australia and #1 in the US.
He was charged last October with multiple felony assault charges to which he pled not guilty.
Onfroy was put under house arrest in December, however a judge granted his request to continue touring the ? record.
