The New York outfit had been scheduled to play two festivals this month.
New York band Blonde Redhead will no longer be heading Down Under for a pair of scheduled festival performances, after the group quietly pulled out of both in recent weeks.
The three-piece — who have been touring in support of their new EP, 3 O'Clock, recently — were down to perform at Brisbane's Restrung event, at the Powerhouse Theatre, as well as Melbourne's Supersense, at the Arts Centre.
Although Blonde Redhead have not evidently made a public statement about their withdrawal, both Restrung and Supersense have confirmed that they will no longer appearing at either event.
According to Restrung's updated program, the change was due to "unforeseen circumstances". Supersense broke the news in a statement advising that their slot has been filled by cult electronic pioneers Severed Heads.
