Last Chance: Unmissable Vivid LIVE Shows At The Sydney Opera House

Vivid LIVE has offered up an amazing two weeks of events and while the end is almost in sight, the party isn’t even close to being over. With a program that’s overflowing with talent, it can be a bit dizzying task trying to map out the perfect schedule; but we’ve got you covered, with a list of must-see events happening this long weekend and beyond.

26-year-old Māori singer-songwriter TEEKS is already a phenomenon in his homeland Aotearoa/New Zealand, winning fans over with one of the most soulful, vibrant and sensuous voices in the world. Now, he delivers his debut album, which was released last year, to the Opera House’s Joan Sutherland Theatre alongside a four-piece band and string quartet on June 13.

From his debut EP, the old school influenced The Grapefruit Skies, to his hit single If Only, which earned him Best Māori Artist at the NZ Music Award, TEEKS has established himself as one of the most unforgettable voices in contemporary soul. Tickets HERE.

Masego

Fresh off a global tour, a Grammy nomination and production credits on some of the world’s biggest records, soul, pop and jazz artist Masego will perform for the very first time at the Sydney Opera House, performing June 14. Navigating the outer limits of soul-pop, the Jamaican American musician creates a brand of music that is truly singular, one that he has coined TrapHouseJazzwhich features futuristic hip hop beats laced with the sound of jazz and his genre defining sax playing.

Masego’s 2021 was his biggest year to date on a mainstream front, producing Drake’s record-breaking album opener Champagne Poetry, as well as releasing singles Garden Party with OutKast’s Big Booi and JID and soul jam Yamz. Tickets HERE.

Nils Frahm: Music For Sydney

One of the world’s most esteemed musicians, Nils Frahm will deliver an exclusive performance to Vivid LIVE this year, premiering the performance of his forthcoming global tour where he’ll debut Music For Sydney. The breathtaking, undeniably incredible live performer has become renowned for his neoclassical soundscapes that combine lush ambient textures combined with atmospheric electronica. 

Frahm has already wowed the Sydney Opera house, debuting with three sold out shows at Vivid LIVE in 2014 and returning to the Concert Hall in both 2017 and 2019. Now 17 years on from his debut Strichelfisch, Frahm is ready to bring yet another mesmerising show to one of the most prestigious venues in the country. He performs on from June 15 – 17. Last Chance To Catch The Lighting Of The Sails

This weekend is the final chance for the public to catch the Lighting of the famous Opera House sails, designed by Martumili Artists and Sydney-based creative technologists Curiious. Yarrkalpa – Hunting Ground, 2021 is two years in the making, transforming the sails bringing to life the Parnngurr community with an accompanying soundtrack by Electric Fields featuring the vocals of the Martu Artists.
