"We don’t know when we can run it yet."
Unify Gathering 2021 is shaping up to be a big one, that is if COVID restrictions ease up enough for the beloved heavy music event to go ahead early next year.
In an update shared via Facebook, organisers confirmed that most of the line-up is booked and that the poster art has even been designed, but they’re “in somewhat of a holding pattern” when it comes to locking in an exact date and making an announcement.
“We have booked 90% of the line-up and designed the poster art. We even added a second stage in the circus tent, which was inspired by what happened this year,” the post reads.
“It’s all an Australian line-up, just like our first year (2015), and a lot of the bands from that line-up will perform. The problem is, we don’t know when we can run it yet, obviously. We have a few date range options and we reckon we can go as late as Easter if we have to.
“After that it would be bad weather and Unify would NEVER have bad weather. It’s hard to even speculate on what will happen, but we are in touch with all the right people and we’re gonna just stay ready and hope.”
Unify Gathering 2015 featured the likes of The Amity Affliction, Northlane, In Hearts Wake, Hellions, Endless Heights and more.
