UNIFY, the self-dubbed heavy music gathering, is back for 2018 in a big, big way.
The festival have announced via Facebook that they'll back for their fourth year in 2018 and will be bringing a whole host of environmentally-friendly and safety orientated changes with them.
Held in Tarwin Meadows, in the South Gippsland area about two hours south-east of Melbourne, the festival has confirmed they'll be back in town from 12-14 January.
UNIFY fans can expect the line-up on Thursday 31 Aug, and with acts like Alexisonfire, Violent Soho, Northlane, Letlive. and Every Time I Die gracing the stage last year — and the festival promising that fans of the first three year's line-ups are "going to REALLY love our 2018 lineup" — it's promising to be a big one.
Tickets will go on sale in the hours after the announcement, and the festival will this year be offering Afterpay for purchases, allowing fans to secure their tickets and then pay for them in instalments.
In an effort to lessen the environmental impact of the camping festival, UNIFY have partnered with Kartent, a company that specialise in biodegradable cardboard tents. Campers can purchase a Kartent and have it ready on their arrival at the campground. UNIFY have also increased the amount of shuttle buses running to and from the festival, and will be offering a free carpark pass for those who opt to carpool with three or more passengers.
Other changes to the campground set-up include the addition of 'The Sanctuary' campsite (an alcohol-free site to allow campers a quieter and calmer space), and the festival have shared that they will be increasing the presence of security, volunteers and general staff across the entire campgrounds. There's also 'The Ultimate Experience' where those who would rather not camp can rent a beach house near the festival grounds for the three-day stint.
