The long-running outfit had already been announced on the line-up for Culture Club's show at Perth Arena this December, and they've now added a further four dates to their sojourn, heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast for their dedicated outings.

The upcoming jaunt will mark The Human League's first trip to Australia in eight years; since their last time Down Under, the group released their ninth studio album, Credo (2011) and have continued touring throughout Europe and the UK with regularity.

They celebrate their 40th anniversary this year; although the sole remaining founding member is vocalist/keyboardist Philip Oakley, the band's core line-up — which also includes fellow vocalists Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall — has remained unchanged since the early 1980s.

The Human League made their breakthrough mark in 1981 with their seminal third album, Dare, which yielded four wildly successful singles (including their #1 charting Don't You Want Me). They've gone on to release 30 singles over the course of their career, eight of which have achieved top-10 rankings on the British chart.

For their part, Pseudo Echo have also enjoyed considerable success in their three-and-a-half decades together, most notably through their #1 take on Lipps, Inc.'s iconic earworm Funkytown. In conjunction with celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2012, the band released their sixth studio album, Ultraviolet, and are set to release another cover single — Nutbush City Limits — this year.

Tickets for all of The Human League's shows with Pseudo Echo will go on sale next Friday, 11 August, through a variety of outlets.
