UK House Duo Him_Self_Her Announce Debut Aussie Shows

8 July 2014 | 1:36 pm | Staff Writer

They're here for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it run in a little more than a week

Leicester-bred house upstarts Him_Self_Her have announced they will at last be making their inaugural trip to the antipodes, almost two years after the release of their breakthrough single Gone Too Long.

A high-octane two years it has been, too, with Gone Too Long not only accruing 11 weeks at #1 on the Beatport New Disco chart and seven months in the Top 10 to its name, but ensuing months saw the duo garnering support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong and Welsh producer and Hot Creations label head Jamie Jones before being picked up by the venerated Damian Lazarus, who has gone on to sign Him_Self_Her to the renowned Crosstown Rebels label.

Now, Aussie audiences stand ready to receive the pair's distinct brand of self-described “house music with feeling” when they touch down in a little more than a week for four shows in the country – and a cheeky chaser in Bali for good measure.

Him_Self_Her start their Australian sojourn at Perth's Geisha next Friday, July 18, and head to The Grand, in Wollongong, on July 19, Sydney's SASH on July 20, Revolver, in Melbourne, on July 25 – and if you're extra, super keen, you could always follow them to their show at the Townhouse in Bali the next morning.

With an album currently in the works, a re-release remix package of Gone Too Long on the way and constant work out on labels such as Eskimo, Love Matters, Runnin' Wild, Love Not Money and Circle Records – not to mention ongoing international tours taking them all around Europe – it's fair to say that we're catching them right as the big-time hype wave catches them and carries them weightlessly towards sunny, sandy shores.
