Aussie musician and actor Troye Sivan has today picked up his first ever Golden Globe nomination. 

Sivan has picked up a nom for Best Original Song for his track Revelation from the Joel Edgerton-directed Boy Erased (check out our recent chat with Edgerton on The Music Podcast)which Sivan also played a minor role in.

He's taken to Twitter today to share the news, saying "Promise I’ll say something eloquent and sweet about it soon but for now what the fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"


Also nominated in the category are Kendrick Lamar for All The Stars from Black Panther, Dolly Parton for Girl In The Movies from Dumplin', Annie Lennox for Requiem For A Private War from A Private War and Lady Gaga for Shallow from A Star Is Born.

Gaga has also been nominated for Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture for A Star Is Born, which sees her nominated against Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, Melissa McCarthy and Rosamund Pike.

Donald Glover has picked up a nom for Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series - Musical or Comedy for his show Atlanta, alongside Sacha Baron Cohen, Jim Carrey, Michael Douglas and Bill Hader.

Rami Malek has scored a nomination for Best Performance By An Actor In A Motion Picture - Drama for his portrayal of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, which sees him nominated against Bradley Cooper (who's also up for Best Director - Motion Picture for A Star Is Born), Willem Dafoe, Lucas Hedges and John David Washington
