Girls to the front!

Ahead of voting closing for triple j's Hottest 100 Of The Decade, the youth broadcaster is celebrating the women who defined it this Sunday.

As part of their annual Girls To The Front broadcasting for International Women's Day, which sees all regular programs hosted by women, the station along with Double J and triple j Unearthed will program "the best songs of the 2010s made by women".

Hosting this 8 March will be Bridget Hustwaite, Caz Tran, Ebony Boadu, Jess Perkins, Karla Ranby, Nat Tencic, Tia Newling and Zan Rowe. Melbourne artist Banoffee will also join triple j to guest present Something More.

Ranby, music researcher/producer at the station, will also program triple j. Double J will be programmed by Music Director Dorothy Markek and on triple j Unearthed it will be programmed by Australian Music Producer Claire Mooney.

Double J will also explore the life and work of PJ Harvey on The J Files, and the Classic Albums segment will dive into Laura Marling’s 2010 LP I Speak Because I Can. Additionally, Rowe will be reminiscing on her favourite Take 5s with women from over the years.

Voting for the Hottest 100 Of The Decade will close at midday AEST on Monday 9 March before the countdown happens on Saturday 14 March.
