The world's biggest music democracy is coming in hot.

Triple J have announced that the world's largest music democracy, the Hottest 100, is back for another year, today revealing the timeline for the most famous radio event in the country.

The contest will see the public vote for their favourite songs of the year and gather around on January 22 as triple j counts down the best 100 songs of 2021.

This year, the party is starting early, with the hottest 200-101 tracks being aired on January 21 from 10am local time.

The Hottest 100 will then be followed by Double J's Hottest 100 of 2001 on January 23, making it a whole Hottest weekend.

Voting opens to the public on December 14 and closes on January 17.
