Hottest 100 Voting Record Smashed: ‘We Didn’t Think It Was Possible’

Music lovers aren’t leaving anything to chance when it comes to this year’s Hottest 100, with triple j recording a HUGE amount of votes in the 2019 Hottest 100.

With voting closing earlier this week, the youth broadcaster has revealed 3,211,596 votes were placed, the results of which will be played out in real-time on Saturday during the highly anticipated annual countdown.

Voting was up 16.4% from last year, with 77.5% of votes from people 30 and under.

“We honestly didn’t think it was possible, but triple j listeners have once again broken the voting record,” triple j said.

“That’s A LOT of young people who are very passionate about what they consider the hottest songs of the year.”

The countdown will kick off this Saturday at 12pm AEDT on triple j.
