The prince of synth, Trent Reznor, is in talks with 20th Century Fox to act in and provide the score for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

A 20th Century Fox spokesperson confirmed that the Nine Inch Nails main man was in discussions to play the part of Jack Barts, the vampire who kills Lincoln's mother in the bizarre film.

An initial report on Badass Digest, which was subsequently re-posted on major news sites, claimed he was confirmed to be working on the film, although it appears Reznor's role in the film is still under discussion.

The film is based on a historical fiction book of the same name, in which the secret history of Lincoln's lifelong battle with vampires is revealed.

The news comes on the tail of Reznor's Oscar win for scoring the Social Network with his long-term collaborator Atticus Ross.
