Travis Scott shocked fans at his UTOPIA concert on Monday night after he brought Kanye West on stage for a performance, marking the rapper’s first show since his antisemitic tirade that began in October 2022.

Travis Scott's highly anticipated UTOPIA concert took place at the iconic Circus Maximus in Rome, Italy, with the ancient chariot-racing stadium, once the largest in the Roman Empire, providing a spectacular backdrop for the show.

The concert kicked off with Scott performing the first three songs from his latest album, UTOPIA, along with some previous hits such as Highest in the Room and Butterfly Effect peppered throughout the setlist.

During his performance of the album, Scott welcomed Ye to the stage to join him in performing Praise God and Can’t Tell Me Nothing.

“There is no ‘Utopia’ without Kanye West. There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West,” Scott said. “There is no Rome without Kanye West. Make some noise for Ye.”

In recent times, West has faced significant controversies, including a series of antisemitic remarks that garnered widespread condemnation.

The shocking remarks generated backlash from various quarters, leading to suspensions on social media platforms and the termination of major partnerships with brands such as Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap.

However, on July 31, the platform formerly known as Twitter revealed that they had reinstated the account of the ever-controversial hitmaker.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Ye would not be able to monetise his account – a function introduced earlier this year by which people can subscribe to certain accounts.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott has also faced his own share of drama - notably over the Astroworld tragedy during which 10 people dead and countless were injured when concertgoers were crushed in a crowd surge during the rapper's performance.

It was revealed in June, however, that Scott would not face charges over the incident.

District Attorney Kim Ogg announced on Thursday, June 30, that "no single individual was criminally responsible" for the disaster, despite calls from victims' families and social media users for Scott to be held responsible for the deaths, which included nine-year-old fan Ezra Blount - the youngest victim of the tragedy.

Travis Scott dropped his latest album UTOPIA on Friday, July 28.
