If you weren't already on the Tones & I train, you'd better get moving.
The burgeoning Byron Bay-based songwriter has today taken out #1 on the ARIA Singles chart with Dance Monkey, beating out one of the biggest tracks in recent memory, Lil Nas X's Old Town Road at #2 and Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello's Señorita at #3.
The feat, which comes only weeks after she broke the record for biggest crowd for an opening act at Splendour, sees Tones & I become the first Australian act to reach top spot on the Singles chart in 2019.

Tones & I's debut single, Johnny Run Away has also jumped up to #14 on the list, while new entries this week include Taylor Swift’s The Archer (#19) and The Chainsmokers and Illenium’s Takeaway featuring Lennon Stella (#34).
Over on the Albums chart, there's more to celebrate for Australian music with Melbourne artist Angie McMahon's debut LP Salt landing at #5, only behind The Lion King soundtrack at #4, NF's The Search at #3, Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? at #2 and Ed Sheeran's No.6 Collaborations Project which holds top spot on the list for a third-straight week.
Other album debuts this week include Chance The Rapper's The Big Day (#7), Sydney outfit Thy Art Is Murder's Human Target (#11) and Of Monsters & Men's Fever Dream (#21).
