Tom Gleeson Announces National ‘Gear’ Tour For 2023 & 2024

The sprawling run will kick off in November and roll on until next May.

Tom Gleeson has announced his latest stand-up comedy show, Gear, which he’ll launch along the east coast with a massive tour spanning six months.

The run will kick off at the Picture House in Brunswick Heads, where Gleeson will perform from Wednesday November 8 to Saturday November 11. He’ll head to Traralgon next – bringing the laughs to the Gippsland Performing Art Centre on Saturday November 18 – before rounding November out with shows in Grafton and Ballarat. Over the following few weeks, he’ll bring Gear to stages in Albury, Narre Warren, Camden, Toowoomba, Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour.

Following the stint of regional dates, Gleeson will start 2024 on the festival circuit, first hitting the Adelaide Fringe for a monthlong residency (running from Friday February 16 to Sunday March 10) at The Garden Of Unearthly Delights. Gear will then make its Melbourne Comedy Festival debut, with Gleeson booked in to perform at the Comedy Theatre from Thursday March 28 to Sunday April 21. Then, wrapping it all up, he’ll perform a one-off show at Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall on Friday May 10.

In a press statement, Gleeson – one of the country’s most renowned stand-up comics, and of course a Gold Logie-winning TV legend (currently grilling the world as the force and fury behind Hard Quiz) – said of his upcoming tour: “Stand up is my specialty. Television is a beautiful distraction but I’m looking forward to getting back to doing what I do best: poking and provoking a live crowd.”
