More Ed Sheeran More Ed Sheeran

Brisbane, you are up. Over 100,000 Ed Sheeran fans will pile into Suncorp Stadium over the next two days to see the singer on the pointy end of his historic tour.

As is usual for gig’s at the stadium, there is restricted parking around the surrounding areas so punters best bet for getting to the show is public transport.

Lucky for ticketholders, all Translink transport is taken care of with free buses and trains running from midday on concert days to 2:30am the following morning.

Additional trains will be running during the evenings but patrons are advised that there will be a track closure from 9.30pm until last service on March 20 from Northgate to Petrie affecting the Redcliffe Peninsula and Sunshine Coast lines.

As reported by News.com.au, Police are encouraging people to leave the backpacks at home due to rigorous security checks.

All patrons attending the venue will be required to pass through security points before entering the stadium,” a Queensland Police spokesperson said.

“Patrons will be subject to searches and will not be permitted to bring backpacks of any size into the venue.”

Gates open at 4pm both days with support being supplied by Armidale singer Fergus James and Aussie icon Missy Higgins. Sheeran is scheduled to take the stage by 8:45pm on both nights.

The gigs begin just days after a 33-year old Brisbane man was arrested for selling at least two fraudulent tickets to the events.
