Arts Centre Melbourne will play host to 'The Last Waltz Revisited' this December

More Tim Rogers More Tim Rogers

A group of the nation's finest musos including You Am I frontman Tim Rogers, stalwart troubadours Marlon Williams and Dan Sultan and members of The RocKwiz Orchestra will unite their talents to pay homage to iconic US rock outfit The Band and their legendary farewell concert, The Last Waltz, with The Last Waltz Revisited.

RocKwiz mainstay Brian Nankervis will act as MC for the evening, which will also boast the contributions of OlympiaVika & Linda Bull and Kevin Borich in a reimagined tribute performance to the original Last Waltz spectacle, which featured The Band trotting out guest performances from the likes of Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton, Neil Young and Muddy Waters, Martin Scorsese filming the unfolding events all the while.

The Last Waltz Revisited will be a fair bit easier to get to than the original venue of San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom; the 2015 do-over will be held at the State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne, on Saturday 5 December.

Tickets will go on sale this Thursday 8 October via the venue.
