Lambert responds.
Over 20,000 people have signed a petition to prevent US singer Adam Lambert from performing at Singapore's biggest New Year concert this month, due to the artist's "promotion of LGBT rights" and "sexualised performances."
According to NME, the petition called for Lambert to be pulled from the Countdown 2016 concert, which is a televised event.
"Singaporeans can enjoy a good show with their consciences being affronted by lewd acts in the name of entertainment," the petition read.
"In addition, a simple online search would reveal that he is well-known for his active promotion of a highly sexualised lifestyle and LGBT rights, [both] of which are contrary to mainstream Singaporean values."
However the petition has since been closed, after organisers insisted that it was put in place in protest of Lambert's on stage "lewd acts".

"It is never “just entertainment”, especially when the national stage is used," the updated post now reads.
"Unfortunately, our concerns to address the probability of lewd acts on a public platform have been downplayed and turned into yet another political LGBT rights issue."
Lambert addressed the petition via the Warner Music Singapore Facebook page and has announced that while he will still perform at the end-of-year concert, he will put on "an entirely new show experience".
"My performance at Celebrate 2016 will not only be a spectacular one, it will celebrate the entire human family in all its diversity," the statement read.
"I am a uniter, not a divider, and I believe in celebrating the human heart and spirit."
Lambert is set to bring his The Original High tour to Australia next month. For more details, head to theGuide.
