PVT - New Spirit (Create Control)
PVT continue to dodge labels, with New Spirit delivering yet another surprising twist. While it does borrow some influence from their last effort, Homosapien, “it feels like the band's most organic and most aggressively bizarre release". We gave it four-and-a-half stars and our Album Of The Week because “it could easily be considered the band's best work”.
Holly Throsby - After A Time (Spunk)
“Simple and gorgeous” is the best way to describe the ebbs and flows of After A Time, with tight harmonies and winning songs like Going To The Sea and Find Your Way Home building a captivating release. We gave it four stars.

The Courtneys - The Courtneys II (Flying Nun)
Vancouver indie-pop outfit The Courtneys channel their sunny, ramshackle aesthetic to the max on their Flying Nun debut. The follow-up to their 2013 self-titled debut, The Courtneys II is an “uplifting, feel-good wedge of dreamy lo-fi bubblegum garage-punk, swathed in distortion”. We gave it four stars.
