Violet Grohl: ‘Music Is For The Greater Good. There’s A Bigger Purpose’

This Week's Releases

New albums from Bon Chat, Bon Rat, Entombed A.D., Emma Henney and more

Bon Chat, Bon RatBurning Palms EP (Independent)

The eclectic Sydney-bred duo will drop their eagerly awaited new EP, Burning Palms, on Monday, in the wake of a veritable ream of praise from all corners of the internet for Escapism, their recently released follow-up single to the EP's title track, which first made itself known to audiences back in October last year. This one's been a while coming, so expect voracious purchases from the band's faithful the second it drops.

Entombed A.D. Back To The Front (Century Media)

Entombed offshoot Entombed A.D. — the result of a messy naming dispute among two distinct line-ups of what was supposed to be one band — will release their first studio full-length under that moniker (and tenth all up) this coming week. Will it mark a brave new era for the Swedish death-metal veterans? The Music's Christopher H James wasn't sold.

Emma HeeneyAfter The Fireworks (MGM)

The sophomore effort from well-travelled troubadour Emma Heeney finds her in a markedly darker and more sophisticated realm than the one in which she dabbled on her 2006 release Dreaming Of Bridges. Taking strides away from the light-footed pop that permeated her earlier work, Heeney is all set to impress a whole ream of new ears when After The Fireworks drops on August 5.
