This That Act Godlands Addresses Sticky Fingers' Controversial Inclusion On Line-up

SA artist and 2018 This That act Godlands has addressed the controversy surrounding Sticky Fingers being included on this year's line-up. 

The decision to recruit the Sydney band on the bill has seen organisers slammed on social media, while others are calling on This That artists to take a stand.

In an online post, Godlands said she "didn't know until last minute, like many of the other acts, that [Sticky Fingers] were apart [sic] of the line-up".

"As a woman and artist I find it extremely difficult to be on the same bill as SF," Godlands' post reads.

"I also ask myself 'Am I really doing my gender a favour by dropping out and letting a band like that win again'? I'm at a crossroad as you can see. 

"Don't get me wrong I'm grateful and ecstatic to be on this lineup bar one act. Please know that just because I'm on the same bill doesn't mean I align with them."

Godlands' statement comes after activist Sally Rugg called on This That artists to "speak out", while Brisbane artist Miss Blanks, who was involved in Kirin J Callinan's recent dismissal from the Laneway 2018 line-up, has also released a statement regarding Sticky Fingers' inclusion on the This That line-up.
