This Is Why You May Have Seen Randoms Playing Air Guitar In Brissy's CBD

It all makes sense now

More Osaka Punch More Osaka Punch

Living in a major city can be pretty weird sometimes. In the course of everyday life, citizens must navigate all manner of street-level oddity they didn't ask for and don't need, from charity muggings to vocally mean teenagers hanging out the front of Hungry Jack's.

And, sometimes, it's a bunch of dudes air-guitaring their way through the CBD.

At least Brisbane prog-rockers Osaka Punch have a good reason for probably weirding out their fellow city-goers recently; turns out, if you saw a guy engaging in some frighteningly spirited shopping at Woolie's (PS, how much does frontman Jack Muzak look like the lovechild of Jake Johnson and Mark Ruffalo here?), or wildly air-drumming on a bench in Queen Street Mall, or making general spectacles of themselves in and around the General Post Office Building — they were filming the clip for bangin' new single Stonk, and are not (just) engaging in unashamed lunacy for the sake of it, thank you very much.

Locals will get a kick out of seeing a ream of identifiable inner-city locations, while if you're not Brisbane-based, you can at least come for the riffs and stay for the reaction faces of passers-by. Because, yes, they got some stares.

"What white nonsense is this?"

The rib-tickling new clip comes ahead of a pair of support shows for the Osaka Punch crew in aid of good mates Dead Letter Circus, with whom they'll take on Mooloolaba's Wharf Tavern (Friday 15 April) and Ipswich's Racehorse Tavern (Saturday 16 April, also with Dollarosa).
