Front man talks in radio interview

He is known for his brash behaviour and sometimes unnecessarily candid opinions.

And in an interview with Fox News Radio  to promote his upcoming book, Anger Is An Energy: My Life Uncensored, English rock star John Lydon didn't mince his words when asked about the Royal Family who he has not spoken highly of in the past.

The lead singer of 70's punk band Sex Pistols said of the Royals: "They are bleeding the country dry on skiing holidays and inbred activities".

He did however show some remorse to his outlandish comments insisting that his distaste for them is not personal.

"I have nothing personal against them as human beings, I want you to understand that and it’s really important" he said.

"They can’t help being born in a gilded birdcage anymore then…I can’t help being born in the ghetto – it’s just how the penny falls for us.”

He also revealed in the interview that his current band, Public Image Ltd are working on their tenth studio album and are set to go on tour throughout the US for three months starting in September.

"We've just finished an album and we're putting it together" he announced, which will be the band's first new material of any kind since 2012.

"It's probably the best music I've ever been a part of."
