What a week it has been. Gotye continues to take a run at being the legitimate ruler of the free world, by winning every accolade that exists, a couple of deaths, a break up, a prank call, a long wait and another dose of sardonic bullshittery at the hands of our old pal SPA Confidential.

Tuesday night was the APRA Awards, which saw Gotye pick up the big three gongs for the year. Other points of interest were Yusuf Islam handing out an award, Jonathan Biggins ensuring nothing was sacred and our man on the ground's awesome spelling skills.

Mr Gotye also stayed on top of the charts in the US as his right hand lady Kimbra made an astonishing debut.

If there's one guy we like talking about more than Gotye then it's Prince and some of us are pretty sad that he's bid Australia farewell after dominating entertainment pages (and this website) for most of his stay.
