The taps are dry, the neon's dead and all the doors are barred. As a necessary step to quash the spread of coronavirus before things can get any worse, the Federal Government has closed all “non-essential” businesses and services across Australia.
But - BUT - in response to this blanket kibosh, a closure that could last up to six months, state governments have given restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes some wiggle room to keep the revenue they so desperately need right now flowing.
For the time being, licenced venues like the ones below will still be able to sell food and alcohol so long as it's for takeaway or delivery, so if you haven't already, we suggest you check your local's socials. If they do a feed there's a good chance you can get your fave pub meal to go, and if they don't you might still be able to jog by for quick, responsibly distanced beer run.
