"...focus on dedicating our resources to further increasing WA digital content both locally and across Australia."

With a shift in the WA media landscape in recent months, national outlet The Music and long-running Perth publication X-Press Magazine are parting ways, following a year long collaboration, to better serve the local scene.

The Music managing director Craig Treweek said: "We originally forged the partnership to provide quality print and digital coverage across WA, as X-Press no longer produces regular magazines it made sense to no longer continue the relationship past the one year term and instead focus on dedicating our resources to further increasing WA digital content both locally and across Australia."

Since its transition to an online medium 12 months ago, The Music Perth has established itself as a major digital contender in the state with traffic continuing to grow month by month.

A recent Nielsen Audit sees the WAMi Award-winning theMusic.com.au sit as the second largest music-related site in the WA, and with an on-the-ground editor and expanding team of local contributors, The Music will continue to break Perth entertainment news as well as giving upcoming bands a national stage to be heard.

The Music’s relationship with Oztix sees them serving up WA content to more than 100,000 Perth subscribers in their combined Just The Ticket newsletter.

In addition to quality web content, The Music Perth look forward to returning to their print roots with seasonal issues to coincide with major WA events and festivals; the success of which can be seen through their past two Adelaide editions, and weekly printed editions on the East Coast.

The Music wish X-Press managing editor Joe Cipriani and the rest of the team all the best in the future.
