Local artist Thelma Plum has spoken out about the “flack” and “abuse” she received after detailing an altercation between herself and Sticky Fingers frontman Dylan Frost.

Earlier this week, Sticky Fingers announced they were going on an “indefinite hiatus”, which coincidently followed comments Plum made about alleged abuse a few nights earlier.

In a post on her Facebook artist page, Plum said she was expecting some fallout from her original comments, but not to the extent she received.

“I knew I would cop a lot of flack, abuse and also a lot of defaming when I came out with my story - never did I think to this extent,” Plum said.

Plum also states the series of events posted online by Frost’s cousin of the alleged abuse was a “bullshit version of the altercation”.

“Dylan acted like a violent prick and scared the fuck out of me, even our uber driver was terrified when he chased the car at full speed with his arm and fist as if he was going to smash the windscreen,” she states.

Although coping a lot of abuse from her initial posts, Plum has said also been contacted by past victims including friends and family.

“I suppose it's a lot easier for the people in his life who idly stood by and watched his violent behaviour to blame me then to take responsibility for the part they played in enabling this behaviour.

“I want to say a big fat thank you to all the people who have reached out and reminded me I am safe, supported and love. Thank you to the women who will no longer be silenced. I love u guys to the mooooooon. X”

Last week, a number of media outlets reported screenshots of deleted posts from Plum’s person FB account.

A number of posts relating to the matter, which Plum has subsequently chosen to delete from her personal account, had been circulated to media and industry prior to Sticky Fingers announcement.

Frost released a statement after Sticky Fingers’ hiatus news saying he had been diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia last year.
