Not a great start...
The launch of The Voice: Generations last night wasn't received nearly as well as previous season premieres of the Aussie singing competition.
The new spin-off from Seven, which has been described as “a twist on the world’s biggest singing competition”, was overshadowed by the premiere of new seasons of Married At First Sight and Australian Survivor.
According to last night’s ratings, The Voice: Generations received 529,000 metro viewers, sitting behind Australian Survivor with 608,000 and Married At First Sight with 869,000, both of which were in the same time slot.
As TV Tonight points out, The Voice has taken a huge hit, last year debuting to a massive 1.4 million viewers following its shift to Seven from Nine.
Generations, which includes judges Keith Urban, Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy, features “talented families, friends, neighbours and even students and teachers team up to vie for Voice glory”.
