More The Triffids More The Triffids

There’s no denying the quantity and quality of WA talent – just check out the massive WAMFest program that dropped today – and the WAMAwards Hall Of Fame shines a spotlight on those artists who helped shaped the state into the hotbed of buzzing talent that it is today.

Influential rock icons The Triffids and revered blues maestro Rick Steele are the latest to be awarded the honour and will be inducted at next Thursday’s sold out WAMAwards Party at Claremont Showgrounds, alongside 36 other winners.

The Triffids rose to fame in the ‘80s and were and were inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 2008, returning to the stage in recent years to pay tribute to David McComb, while the prolific Steele helped shape the WA music scene through a string of releases while performing in numerous bands and also helping found Perth Blues Club.
