Unexpectedly born three months premature while his Brisbane musician parents were on holiday in Hawaii, The Triffid hosts a benefit concert to help cover the bills
Considered Brisbane rock royalty, Kylie Lovejoy unexpectedly delivered her son Phoenix three months prematurely while holidaying with her partner Brendan Wright in Hawaii in June.
Born so early, Phoenix requires round-the-clock care, which he's receiving in a Honolulu intensive care unit, an inevitable substantial and unwelcome financial burden on the young couple and the little fellow. So their friends in the music fraternity are throwing a benefit concert they've dubbed Raising Phoenix.
The line-up on the day includes Mick Medew & The Rumours, The Predators, Sabrina Lawrie & The Hunting Party, 52 Pickups, Weezal, Some Jerks, Lovejoy Surf and DJ Earthling. For details, go to theGuide.
