Canadian rock band The Tea Party will return to Australia in June 2024, bringing the 25th-anniversary tour of their album [TRIPtych] to our shores. The tour marks their first time down under since 2019.

[TRIPtych] was a popular album for the band in 1999, landing at #14 in Australia upon its release and receiving a nomination for Best Rock Album at Canada’s Juno Awards. The album stretches into electronica while maintaining their hard rock roots, with the single Heaven Coming Down getting to #83 in Australia and nominated for Best Single at the 2000 Juno Awards.

The Tea Party have plotted six Australian dates to celebrate [TRIPtych]. The tour begins on Sunday, 16 June, at Perth’s Concert Hall, followed by Adelaide’s Norwood Concert Hall (18 June), Melbourne’s Palais Theatre (20 June), Sydney’s Enmore Theatre (21 June), Wollongong’s Anita’s Theatre, and ends at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday, 25 June.

General sale tickets to the [TRIPtych] 25 tour go on sale at 11 am on Monday, 26 February, while the Live Nation pre-sale begins on Friday, 23 February, at 11 am. You can find tickets and more touring information via the Live Nation Australia website.

In a statement, The Tea Party’s Jeff Martin, Stuart Chatwood and Jeff Burrows said about their impending Australian tour, “‘The three of us are looking forward to bringing the magic of our fourth studio album Triptych to live audiences in Australia.

“The album features several timeless classics, including Heaven Coming Down, amongst others. Join us as we take this journey into an iconic era in The Tea Party’s history together.”

This tour isn’t the first time that The Tea Party have brought an anniversary tour to Australia.

In 2017, they played through Transmission at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre, with The Music’s Rod Whitfield declaring: “Transmission is a transcendent work — and that is proved beyond all shadow of a doubt again tonight. To see this album being played more or less end to end by this band in this venue is something deeply special.”
