The voting for SXSW Sydney’s Session Select is now open, organisers have revealed. By voting, the programme can be based on what you want to see at the 2023 conference.
SXSW Sydney organisers have already received 1,400 proposals for panels and presentations, workshops, meet-ups and mentor sessions that are aimed at covering and creating groundbreaking ideas across multiple Conference Tracks.
According to a press release shared with The Music, more than 13% of submissions explored ideas around Culture and Community, 12% delved into the Tech Industry and Startups, and 11% were focused on The Future You.
Per Media Week, Fenella Kernebone, Head of Conference Programming at SXSW Sydney, said yesterday: “We at SXSW Sydney are thrilled by the variety of ideas from our local and global creative community, from individuals and groups at the top of their fields.
“We were also stunned by the level of interest, receiving over 1,400 entries to Session Select in our first year. Now we turn it over to our audience to choose what they want to see.”
Voting opened yesterday, 29 March and closes on Tuesday, 11 April, at 11:59 pm AEDT.
There are many session proposals you can vote for, from Journalism, publishing and truth in the age of AI to The 5 Day Week is Dead, Long Live the 4 Day Week. Vote for your favourite sessions here.
Sydney will be the first city outside of Austin to gather at SXSW as a collection of the world's most inspired thinkers, creators, innovators, and artists gather for the first time in the southern hemisphere.
This year, the full-week program will run from Sunday, 15 October, until Sunday, 22 October.
The SXSW Sydney Conference will feature over 400 keynotes, presentations, panels, workshops and mentor sessions.
Notably, the SXSW Sydney 2023 Music Festival will take over multiple live music venues in Sydney, where official showcasing artists will perform in front of industry reps, media, and thousands of fans and fellow musicians. Artists can still apply HERE to participate.
