The Strokes to start work on new album next month

The Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture has confirmed  that the band are to begin work on the follow up to 'Angels' in April.

Nikolai Fraiture, bassist for The Strokes has confirmed in an interview with British radio station XFM  that the band are to begin work on the follow up to the recently released 'Angels' in April.

"We were just talking about when we would get back together and start writing for the next album," Fraiture said. "It should be soon. April, mid-April"

Fraiture also discussed some of the criticism of Angels, in particular the fact that it's been quoted as not being as accessible as previous releases.

"I love that it takes a few listens," he said. "After a five-year break, we didn’t want to do something that’s like, 'Oh, I get it after one listen!'"

Angels was released on March 18 through RCA records.
