Speaking to Triple J, Julian Casablancas of The Strokes confirmed that the band will be playing two shows in Australia this July.
The kings of garage rock have announced the following dates with tickets going on sale April 12th.
Thursday July 29th – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Friday July 30th – Festival Hall, Melbourne
However, with Splendour In The Grass (July 29 to August 1) happening the week the band is set to arrive, there is speculation they may be part of this year’s festival line-up which could mean additional headlining shows.
In other Strokes news, the band are planning to release their next studio album in September.
