Sydney rock favourites, The Scare, have today announced intentions to disband.
After forming in Queensland in 2003, The Scare relocated to Birmingham, England, where they received high praise from UK music publications including NME and Kerrang. The five-piece moved back to Sydney in 2007, before releasing their highly regarded second album, "OozeVoodoo," in September last year.
However, after months of speculation, the band finally announced its future intentions today. In a statement released this afternoon, band frontman Kiss Reid said “It was a fun ride, it was a wild ride, at times it was a shit ride, at times you wanted it to never end type of ride. But alas all good things must come to an end, and now it’s our turn.”
The band will head out on one final, short run of dates in July, before finally calling it quits:
Friday 9th July – Sussex Inlet Tavern, Sussex Inlet
Saturday 10th July – Rats at Colonial Hotel, Melbourne
Friday 16th July – Grand Hotel, Wollongong
Saturday 17th July – Annandale Hotel, Sydney
