Fans will be able to hear the band's legendary album, recorded with Bob Marley, in its entirety at five shows around the country.

UPDATE: The Original Wailers have added a further seven shows to their existing tour plans in response to overwhelming demand for their Legend tour next month.

The iconic band will now entertain crowds in the Central Coast, Narrabeen, Canberra, Brunswick and the Gold Coast, with second shows in Melbourne and Adelaide now on the cards.

Australian fans are in for a treat this December, when Bob Marley's band The Wailers — now billed as The Original Wailers — touch down for a five-date run of shows, playing their seminal album Legend in full.

The album contains much-loved hits such as Is This Love, Could You Be Loved, Three Little Birds, One Love, No Woman No Cry, Get Up, Stand Up, Buffalo Soldier, I Shot The Sheriff, Jamming, Redemption Song and more.

It remains the best-selling reggae album in history, and has gone Platinum four times over here in Australia, so expect enthusiasm to be bountiful for the upcoming sojourn. The band's performance will also entail a special encore of greatest hits.

The Original Wailers will kick off their Australian tour over in the west, at Perth's Astor Theatre on Sunday 17 December, heading east to stages in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, where they'll finish up at the Metro Theatre on Saturday 23 December.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, 1 September, at 9am local time through Metropolis Touring.
