The much adored trio are back on Australian soil for a run of shows next month.
The improvisational geniuses that are The Necks are set to return home after receiving rave reviews from their extensive Europe tour, for their annual Australian tour.
Having released 16 studio albums over their 25 year career, Chris Abrahams (piano), Lloyd Swanton (bass) and Tony Buck (drums and percussion) have wowed audiences worldwide with their “let the music take care of itself” philosophy.
Performing two completely improvised hour sets, The Necks take not only the audience, but also themselves, on an undulating musical journey within their concerts. Tony Buck claims the trio simply become vessels for the music to flow through in their sets, not knowing where they are going, or how they got where they are. In 2012 their work was validated when their album Aether was added to the Australian National Recorded Registry.
Whether you're a die-hard fan or curious new comer, The Necks' forthcoming Australian tour ought not be missed. Their tour dates are as follows.
