You know you wanna invest.
Local filmmaker and The Music podcast co-host, David Burrowes, has launched a crowdfunding campaign in support of a new short film he is working on about a murderous granny.
Yes. A murderous granny.
Written by Burrowes and collaborator Dean Burr, Granny is inspired by the grindhouse-era, Ozploitation films about a not-so-kind elderly lady out on a murderous hunt for revenge.
Granny is aiming for a June release and to help the film see the light of day, the team have launched a campaign via Indiegogo and are hoping to raise $15,000.

"Making movies is expensive and there just isn't enough support for emerging filmmakers - especially if they want to make something fun and entertaining," Burrowes tells The Music.
"The people giving out grants take one look at something like this and roll their eyes. Genre films rely on the support of audiences to exist - that's why we're doing indiegogo.
"The film is going to be awesome, who doesn't want to see a chainsaw wielding granny? We just need the money to buy the chainsaw, you know?
Donations between $10-$100 can score punters anything from Facebook shout outs, to official Granny merchandise, while anything north of that can score benefactors on-set visits and VIP tickets to the film's premiere.
And, hey, if you're feeling REALLY generous, a small donation of $3000000 will give you, as the Indiegogo page says, "the world".
"It's being made by a bunch of people who really care about making something exciting and entertaining," Burrowes continues.
"It's not a self-indulgent thing for us - we're making something that we want to bring joy to an audience.
"Every time I come in to the studio to do a podcast record, Neil begs me to be let in the movie - he just won't accept that he's not the right fit to play the Granny."
