American synthwave powerhouse, The Midnight, have announced their plans to head Down Under in February and March of 2024 where they’ll set the stage ablaze in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
Composed of Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle and LA-based producer, songwriter, and singer Tim McEwan, The Midnight’s music can be described a unique blend of nostalgic 80s synthwave and modern pop, resulting in a dreamy, cinematic, and evocative sonic experience.
The fan favourite track WeMoveForward from their 2014 debut EP Days of Thunder, was created during their very first encounter — though you wouldn’t think it. The single's euphoric rhythms, bittersweet synths and Lyle's romantic lyricism lay the foundation for The Midnight's signature style, a theme that continued all the way into their latest album, Heroes.
Their latest release was conceived during the isolation of the COVID quarantine, and explores themes of loneliness while celebrating the beauty of shared human connections through an fusion of influences, including Springsteen, The Police, and AC/DC.
