The annual celebration of all things heavy and dark is set to be bigger than ever in 2017

More The Bennies More The Bennies

Brisbane's beloved mecca of all things heavy and dark — the Dead Of Winter Festival — returns to the Jubilee Hotel this July after a year away, and its organisers have gathered a diverse and delicious line-up of local and interstate legends — including intergenerational Melbourne institutions The Bennies and The Meanies — to rock the stalwart Valley venue to its core.

Also flying/driving in for the festivities will be fellow Victorians Whoretopsy, Hollow World, and La Bastard as well as Sydney's Black Rheno and Adelaide's Truth Corroded, along with a raft of seriously awesome Queensland acts, including a reunion show for Brisbane metal vets Hollow plus appearances from the Sunshine Coast's Transvaal Diamond Syndicate and Hobo Magic, the Gold Coast's Being Jane Lane, Tesla Coils and The Molotov and a string of hometown heroes such as Flangipanis, She Cries Wolf, Smoking Martha, Walken, Some Jerks, FAT, The Black Swamp, Swamp Gully Howlers, Mammoth and The Cutaways.

Rockhampton outfit A.M.P will also make the trip down for the festival, as regional competition winners, with the Chevron Showgirls bringing their Heart & Dagger Sideshow along for good measure.

The festival will stretch across all of the Jubilee's bars, plus feature stages in the upstairs nightclub and in the car park and beer garden. There will also be the usual side attractions, including horror flicks and themed night markets.

The 2017 Dead Of Winter Festival will be held at the Jubilee Hotel on Saturday 29 July.
