The wait is almost over...

After months of teasers, we now know when the Australian version of The Masked Singer series will premiere.

Channel Ten will air the first episode of the show, featuring a panel that consists of Danni Minogue, Dave Hughes, Jackie O and Lindsay Lohan, as well as Osher Gunsberg as host, at 7.30pm on Monday 23 September.

The series plays out in a similar fashion to the singing competitions we’ve seen here before but goes one step further than the likes of The Voice with a whacky twist, as its title suggests.

A number of local celebrities will feature on the Australian version of the show, with each performing to a panel of judges while hiding behind a character/mask.

The judges then have the opportunity to ask each contestant questions to try to determine their identity, while voting alongside the audience as to who will continue to the next round.
