The Mars Volta were honored with a Grammy in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category in the pre-telecast ceremony at the 51st annual Grammy Awards, which were being held last night (Sunday, February 8) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The Mars Volta were nominated for the track "Wax Simulacra", from the band's album "The Bedlam in Goliath". The nominees in this year's "Hard Rock" category also included the Disturbed's "Inside the Fire", Judas Priest's "Visions", Mötley Crüe's "Saints of Los Angeles" and Rob Zombies's "Lords of Salem".
