"Surely you can relate?! How about a chorus line of Lincoln Continentals rolling through a graveyard...?"

British indie rock duo The Kills have outlined the details for their hotly-awaited fifth record, Ash & Ice, this morning, which will be released through Domino on 3 June.

Having formed the band in 2000 and with four critically lauded albums to their name, The Kills' fifth offering took the better part of five years to create, unfortunately a result of guitarist Jamie Hince's five surgeries to his hand.

Recorded between a rented property in LA and NYC's Electric Lady Studios, Ash & Ice is said to be "more understated, less tempestuous and more affecting".

The band also added, "Thank you for your patience while we perfected our craft, sharpened our teeth and made the journey from first note to last. Please check out our first single off Ash & Ice, Doing It To Death. Surely you can relate?! How about a chorus line of Lincoln Continentals rolling through a graveyard in the blistering sun, weaving through palm trees and dancing dudes? Of course!
