A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
Scottish post-punk luminaries The Jesus & Mary Chain have announced a super-special, anniversary show for the 30th birthday of their landmark debut 1985 record, Psychocandy.
The Glasgow natives were instrumental influences to bands like Nirvana and My Bloody Valentine — really, the wider development of the late-20th-century shoegazing movement in general — and the band performing Psychocandy in full is not often seen, even in the years since their 2007 reunion, when the band resumed regular activity following an eight-year hiatus.
The band will head to Melbourne's Forum Theatre on Monday, 7 March. See theGuide or check The Music App for booking details.
Early last month, co-founder Jim Reid indicated that the band had started work on their first album since 1998, when they released the overlooked final full-length Munki.
