The Jane Barnes Band Is Going On Tour Through New South Wales This May & June

Jane Barnes has been around music for decades. Wife to Jimmy Barnes and mother to Mahalia, Eliza-Jane, Elly-May and Jackie, all involved in the arts and entertainment, it’s Jane’s turn to stand in the limelight.

This May and June, you can catch Jane Barnes hosting her own shows through the state of New South Wales.

The Jane Barnes Band began in 2020 during Covid-19 lockdowns, providing comfort to those struggling in isolation through the power of music. Rather than perform Cold Chisel songs, Jimmy and Jane performed songs that they felt would help people through a tough time - who doesn’t love The Beatles?

While Jane is remaining tight-lipped about the vocalists joining her, she did offer this little gem: “I haven’t got a big band, but my singers are very expensive”. And as Noise11 reports, rumours are that Jane is looking to recruit Richard Marx’s Australian touring drummer - Jackie Barnes - to join the shows.

The Jane Barnes Band cover everything from The Beatles to Otis Redding to Doris Day and Dolly Parton, Cold Chisel to John Denver and Glen Campbell and Leonard Cohen.
