The Harpoons Unveil New Clip For 'Can We Work This Out'

Melburnian RnB/soul-pop four-piece The Harpoons have unveiled the new video for their most recent single Can We Work This Out, as well as getting extra-generous with the details on their forthcoming debut full-length.

The video – for which the band got a little Stateside love in getting the word out – is the directorial work of visual artist Becky Sui Zhen, and, unlike their VERY SAD band photo, it is “shot against vivid shades of pink and green”, which is one way to describe it, though it’s more likely those shades were actually added in during post-production because that is how video editing works, The Harpoons. Anyway, we’re nitpicking. Here, watch:

If the sight of people barely moving (to, OK, a pretty damn great song) hasn’t got your blood racing, then The Harpoons aren’t through with you – they’ve also blown the lid on the release date, artwork, and track-listing for their eagerly awaited debut album, Falling For You.

OK, so, there that is. That’s Falling For You. Breathe it in.

However, please don’t be fooled – The Harpoons truly are something of a phenomenal concern, with a fine pedigree that boasts among its ranks talented siblings Henry and Jack Madin, harmony heroine Bec Rigby, and the silky-smooth Martin King, of Oscar + Martin note, so when we say the album is eagerly awaited, it’s not just a cheap platitude – if anything, we’ve been honest the whole way through, so why start lying now?

The album will be dropped digitally via Two Bright Lakes/Remote Control Records on Friday, September 26, with vinyl hitting stores the very same day.

The release comes just after the band makes a Brisbane-bound trip for the impending BIGSOUND conference and showcase, at which they’ll play on Thursday, September 11, scooting to Sydney the next night to hit the Brighton Up Bar. See the Gig Guide or The Music App for all the fine print.
