The Great Gatsby, Vampire Weekend Making Chart Impact

What's tracking well this week?

Michael Buble's stranglehold on the ARIA Album Chart will come under threat by The Voice judge Ricky Martin before new debuts this week, according to midweek figures

Martin's Greatest Hits continues to be fast-moving after a Mother's Day boost and if it reaches number one it will be his first Aussie number one in 14 years.

The new releases tracking well include Vampire Weekend's Modern Vampires Of The City, the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby, Demi Lovato's Demi, MS MR's Secondhand Rapture. The other debut that is sniffing around the top 50 is ex-ABBA singer Agnetha Fältskog's new album A, although the publicity around that record seems to be boosting ABBA best-ofs as much as anything.

Reality television talent quest The Voice is starting to make its presence felt on the ARIA charts, with Emma Pask, Luke Kennedy and Caterina Torres amongst the this week's collection. They'll struggle to knock off Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines (featuring Pharrel Williams and T.I.), which is looking good for a second week at number one.
